We love the Dyson DC14 so much we blogged about it... There is a cult following around Dyson vacuums and it is no wonder why. The patented suction technology ensures that the vacuum can tackle years and years of dirt generated by kids, pets and spouses (not you, of course) with ease. This line of appliances is so good at combating dirt, dust and hair that they are the only vacuums certified asthma friendly by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation. It is undoubtedly because the Dyson not only sucks up the smallest molecules of dirt but they include a lifetime HEPA filter (read here: No changing filters). In addition, the upright models have a telescoping wand that provides a 17 foot reach so you can vacuum places that haven't seen the light of day in eons (under the bed, in back of your son's closet, under the cushion of your husband's football watching chair). But our favorite feature of the Dyson, as i am a proud owner of one these past 2 years and can testify to it personally, is the vacuums clear 5-7 gallon dust bins. While I am vacuuming I can easily tell when the bin is full and with a quick flip of a button, I can detach the bin. Another press of a button and I can dispose of the dirt without even touching it. There are no bags for me to replace and no time wasted trying to put the vacuum back together. Its a 10 second process. I could go on and on about the Dyson but I will cut to the ending. These vacuums are expensive because they are meant to last you a lifetime. At $500 to $600 its an expensive investment. However, Amazon is having a sale on these marvelous machines!
