Booties, Ankle and Shoe boots were all over the runways at the fall/winter 2008 fashion shows. But does that mean you should wear them? We love the fun, edgy look of booties and Ankle Boots but frankly, it is very easy to lose a long and lean silhouette wearing these types of boots. The reason is simple - the top of the boot ends above your ankle bone which visually cuts off a few inches of height from your legs. While long, leggy girls or girls in their early 20's don't have issue with that, this 5'5"-inch-women-over-23 does. I love how ankle booties and shoe boots look with my fall wardrobe, so how do I wear them and still look my height or taller (and thinner)? Here are our tips for wearing these fun and stylish boots:
*Pair ankle boots with wide-leg pants for a chic to-the-office look or informal dinner date.
* Really want to show leg and boot simultaneously? Go monochromatic. A short skirt with matching tights & a pair of patent leather booties will not only look fierce, but slimming.
* Leggings/Skinny Jeans & Ankle boots? If you are under 30 years old and slender, this is a look you can rock all season long. Not recommended for those heavier or older unless you have some serious attitude to carry it off
* Skirt without tights? Yes, this can be done but be careful. Pick a boot that shows lots of ankle like a slouchy boot or a shoe boot.
